Black Desert in Egypt

Description

It is mainly characterized by a landscape of secluded plains and dunes of different sizes, heights and forms that spread like an archipelago of islands. One of its most striking features is the total absence of any footprints, spoors or tire prints, which gives you the indelible feeling that you are the first one to set foot in it.

The Black Desert is different from what the name would imply, as volcanic cones rising from untouched pristine sands are slightly dusted with black volcanic pebbles. It is a photographer’s dream, with colors ranging from reds, oranges and ochre, merging with fawn and taupe. The Black Desert doesn’t have hard compacted sands, but its dunes and plains delicately dip and soar in soft and rounded curves interspersed with date palm groves.
