Day 01: (Wednesday) Arrival Cairo
Arrive in Cairo to discover the contrasts of this ancient city, our representative will meet you at Cairo international airport then will be accompanied to your hotel for check in with free welcome drink. Tonight, relax or enjoy optional evening of out of this world entertainment as we go to the Pyramids for the incredible Sound and Light Spectacular after you will return to your hotel and then the night is at leisure.
Day 02: (Thursday) Cairo Sightseeing Tours
Breakfast at hotel and then your private English speaking Egyptologist guide will take us to the amazing Pharaonic Cairo to visit the Step Pyramids and the Fine Tombs at Sakkara , the Statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx at Memphis that was the ancient capital of Egypt during the old kingdom. From there you will be moved into the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, Micerinus and the almighty sphinx, the royal human head on a lion's body then to the valley temple, two awesome megalithic temples, known as the Sphinx Temple, and the Valley Temple traditionally attributed to the Pharaoh Chephren that is an absolute wonder of engineering . Lunch en route at specialty restaurant nearby the pyramids with free time for shopping. For those who did not get to go the option will be given tonight to relax or join us for another optional evening of out of this world entertainment as we go to the Pyramids for the incredible Sound and Light Spectacular (optional) Return back to your hotel for relaxation, free time and overnight stay.
Day 03: (Friday) Cairo Sightseeing Tours / Aswan
After breakfast at your hotel you will be taken for a guided tour to the Egyptian Museum of antiquates that was built in the neo-classical style by the French architect Marcel Dourgenon the museum housing over 120,000 objects from different Pharaonic eras especially those of the child king Tutankhamen . Proceed to the citadel of Saladin and Mohammed Ali`s Alabaster Mosque .Lunch en route at good quality restaurant in Cairo downtown .Then drive to the Old Cairo to visit the old Coptic churches and the fortress of Babylon where the holy family took a refuge. Leaves the Church of St Barbara and St. St. George's church from there you will be transferred Cairo airport to fly to Aswan, where you will be met and assisted and transfer to your hotel and overnight stay in Aswan.
Day 04: (Saturday) Abu Simbel / SS Sudan Holiday
Early morning optional excursion to Abu Simbel to disover the temples and then transferred back to Aswan with direct transfer to your cruise ship in order to board the ship before lunch. Time to settle into your cabins. Gourmet lunch on the ship. First afternoon visit is to the temple of Philae. Free time in the souks of Aswan. Evening option, the "Sound and Light" show at Philae (with a French reading of the author André Castelot). First evening and dinner spent a board the ship at the port of Aswan.
Day 05: (Sunday) SS Sudan Holiday
Early set off for Kom Ombo, about 48km North of Aswan. Discover its temple, which resides on the summit of a sort of acropolis, a very unique structure to be found in Egypt. It is in fact a double temple, which was dedicated to two divinities: Sobek, the crocodile God, and the God Horus in his normal form. We continue towards Edfu, about 145km to the north of Kom Ombo. Gourmet lunch on ship. Afternoon visits to the temple, constructed under the Ancient Empire and reconstructed during the Ptolemaic and Roman period; it is dedicated to the falcon God Horus. We set off in the beginning of the evening for Esna, roughly 46km north of Edfou. Second night and dinner on board while docked at Esna.
Day 06: (Monday) SS Sudan Holiday
After passing through the lock, we navigate towards Luxor, about 60km north of Esna. Containing infinite treasures, the large city of the Upper Egypt remains the symbol of economic strength and Egyptian wealth. Gourmet lunch on ship. The end of the afternoon is dedicated to the discovery of the river banks of Luxor: first the temple of Karnak, built to exhibit the glory of the God Amon Räy, then a visit to the temple of Luxor, in which construction began under Amenophis III and continued under Ramsey II. In this "Southern Harem" that sheltered the Goddess Ipet-Amonet, the Egyptians celebrate the festival of Opet. Today this temple is found in the heart of the city. At last dinner and your last night on board the ship at Luxor.
Day 07: (Tuesday) SS Sudan Holiday / Luxor
Early departure for a long morning adventure and discovery of the Necropolis of Theban : visit some of the tombs in the Valley of Kings and the Valley of Queens. Discover the funeral temple of Ramsey III, the best conserved temple in the Necropolis. Transfer after the visit to your hotel in Luxor for free time at lesiure and overnight stay in Luxor.
Day 08: (Wednesday) Luxor / Cairo
Optional hot air balloon flight trip in Luxor over the valley of the Kings at the West bank of the River Nile followed by enjoyable breakfast the hotel in Luxor with free time at lesiure and some optional sightseeing tours available in Luxor and out of Luxor to Denderaha and Abydos temples . Later you will be transferred to Luxor airport to fly back to Cairo, where you will be met and assisted and transferred to your hotel for free time at lesiure in Cairo and overnight stay.
Day 09: (Thursday) Cairo / Home
Breakfast at your hotel in Aswan and then transfer to airport to fly to Cairo, where you will be met and assisted and transfer to the other terminal to fly back home.
